Indore Police Seize Rs 7.5 Lakh in Illegal Liquor from Intercepted Bus

INDORE, India — Vijay Nagar police have made a significant bust in a crackdown on illicit alcohol trade, seizing a large consignment of unauthorized liquor from a bus during a late-night operation.
The seizure, which occurred late Sunday evening, involved nearly 800 liters of alcohol with an estimated market value in the lakhs. Two individuals—the driver and the conductor of the bus—have been taken into custody.
The Operation: Tip-Off Leads to Radisson Square Interception
The bust was executed by the Vijay Nagar police station after they received a specific tip-off regarding the illegal transport of a liquor consignment.
Location: Police intercepted the bus at Radisson square in Indore.
Discovery: Upon searching the luggage compartment of the vehicle, officers discovered 90 boxes packed with illicit alcohol.
The Haul: 777.6 Liters Seized
The total quantity of seized liquor was substantial:

Estimated Value: Approximately Rs 7.5 lakh
The bus used in the crime has also been seized by the authorities.
The Arrests: Driver and Conductor Booked
Police immediately arrested the two men operating the bus. The accused were unable to produce any valid license or permit required for transporting the commercial quantity of alcohol.

Aashim Khan (24), the driver.
Salman Khan (33), the conductor.
Both individuals have been booked under the Excise Act for the illegal transport of the liquor consignment. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amrendra Singh confirmed the details of the seizure and arrests.
